General Tips
Get into a Routine -- Find a time each day (morning, lunch, night), to complete
the daily reading – get into a routine.
The hardest time is usually the first week, but once you get into a
routine and see how fast and far you are moving, it will become easier.
DO NOT SKIP – Do not skip anything. You do not want to get to the end and say you
read everything, except… There may be
hard names, words...long lists of names and lineages... but you are reading to yourself so do not stress. Even if you fall behind, do not skip
ahead. Try to find extra time to catch
up or add a few pages a day to your reading until you are caught up.
DO NOT LINGER – Do not fall into the trap of lingering. Yes there will be times you want to reflect,
research or meditate on a particular story or passage. If this happens, take note and finish the
reading for the day first and, if you have time, go back.
Attend weekly meetings – whether in person or by phone, try
to attend the weekly meetings. These are
opportunities for everyone to share their questions and thoughts and also help
to encourage one another in the reading.
Don’t Stress – just read.
